John 4:22-24

²² You Samaritans worship something you don’t understand. We [^CJews] understand what we worship, because salvation comes from the Jews [^Cbecause the Messiah who brings salvation comes through the Jews]. ²³ [^LBut] The ·time [^Lhour; see 4:21] is coming when the true worshipers will worship the Father in ·spirit [or the Spirit] and truth, and that time ·is here already [has now come; is now here]. You see, the Father too is actively seeking such people to worship him. ²⁴ God is ·spirit [Spirit], and those who worship him must worship in ·spirit [Spirit] and truth.”
